General:

Bikes like this are getting harder and harder to find in this condition. 18000 original non-track miles. This is arguably one of the best, all- around motorcycle models ever produced by Honda. The liquid-cooled 648cc engine and slick -shifting five speed gearbox are an absolute joy to ride. The su spension is firm, while remaining compliant over bumps. The brakes are well-modulated and the handling is quick without being "twitchy" This is a bike that a novice motorcyclist can feel comfortable on, while at the same time providing an experienced sport-rider much to appreciate. This is a motorcycle that I wish I could keep for myself; I fear I may never come across such a clean, unmolested and well-maintained specimen of this great model again.

Mechanical Codition:

This bike is exceptionally good mechanical condition. It starts easily and and runs flawlessly throughout its powerband. It has newish Dunlop Sportmax sport-touring tires and the chain and sprockets look in good shape. I would happily and confidently take this bike on a multi-state, backroad ride tomorrow, if I had the opportunity. The bike is also equipped with an aftermarket fork brace, which further enhances the directness of the stock steering. The exhaust is stock and the carburetors have their original jetting. All lights, instruments and controls work as they should.

Cosmetic Condition

As you can see from the photos, the bike is also in exceptional cosmetic condition. I would have to say that other than a single stone pick on the right side of the tank and a few light scratches on the right rear of the tailpiece, it is in showroom condition. The Italian Red paintwork is all original and shows the exeptional care it has received from its past owners over the years. The visually exposed aluminum perimeter frame and single-sided swing arm look great without weathering or corrosion. An aftermarket Givi Road Star sport fairing has been professionall color-matched and added to the bike. Although it doesn't provide much weather protection, it does enhance the bikes riding comfort at speed, by directing the wind blast over the rider's torso without sacrificing forward vision. The bike has been photographed with a white magnetic tank-guard on the back of the tank, which in several of the photos has been pushed out of position and looks askew.

Whether you are a novice rider or an an experienced corner carver, the Hawk GT for sale here will make an excellent and reliable mount, that you will not quickly tire of, and with the rarity and desireablity he model it should appreciate in value nicely as time goes by.
